Crowd-Sourced Gun Violence Solutions with our live Radio Audience

In the aftermath of the Las Vegas Massacre, the worst mass shooting in recent US history, we focused our live audience on calling in possible solutions to this madness. From gun shot detectors at large events to a mental health evaluation for everyone applying for a gun permit, we look at the pros and cons of such potential solutions.  We also take a look at other countries, such as Germany and Australia to see if we may take a page from their playbook.   This is a serious folks, with no easy solution.  But fortunately, we have a collective desire to move this issue forward, and this show is our first attempt to move the needle on our out of control gun issue. We look forward to your ideas and comments.

Imagine being stuck in a small dome with 5 other people for 8 months, broken only by the occasional walk outside in your spacesuit.  A group of aspiring Martian explorers just finished such an adventure in Hawaii and will be sharing what they learned. Even with it’s lack of air and cold temperatures, Mars looks a lot more inviting than Venus, given the latest reports from the dark side of our sister planet via the Venus Express spacecraft from the European Space Agency.

Did you ever want to travel into the past to meet historic people or see momentous events, like Lindbergh Science Author/Journalist James Gleick crossing the Atlantic for the first time by plane? Or perhaps a trip to the future, where there is easy travel to other planets and cures for deadly diseases?  Famed science journalist James Gleick is our guest this week to discuss the idea of time travel and how it has evolved since H.G. Well’s classic tome “The Time Machine,” first published in 1894.  It’s a fun topic with deep implications and amazing possibilities.  Quantum physicist Nick Herbert calls in with some great input as well, having written a book on faster than light travel.
