The Strangely Moving Magnetic North Pole, Saturn's Short Days, Sundials and Networked Tesla's, T. Mike Walker and Dr. Ralph Abraham on Hip Santa Cruz, Volumes 3 and 4.

Listen Now to The Dr. Future Show 2.05.2019

What’s up with the North Pole these days? It seems to be speeding up, moving it’s location about 31 miles a year of late. We take a closer look, as well as the strange days of Saturn and why Tesla’s just might be the best autonomous cars on the road.

And this week marks the release of volumes 3 and 4 of Hip Santa Cruz, edited by Dr. Ralph Abraham with the assistance of many, including T. Mike Walker, who join’s Ralph in our studio. These latest volumes take us into first person accounts of the awakening of Santa Cruz culture of the 1970’s and 80’s, the aftermath of the miracle that happened in the 1960’s, tracing the rise of women’s rights, home birthing, the evolution of theater, music, education, ecology and a more profound connection with Nature. Ralph and T. Mike arrived early so we spent a little more time than usual with our guests this week. Enjoy!

Bonus - Watch a segment with Ralph Abraham and T. Mike Walker in 360 video with illustrations!

Interview - Dr. Ralph H. Abraham on Hip Santa Cruz, Volume 2

Listen Now to Dr. Ralph Abraham

Known for his work in Chaos Theory and visual mathematics, Dr. Ralph was also a veteran of the psychedelic 60’s, leaving the ivory towers of Princeton for the redwood forests of the University of California at Santa Cruz to pursue his academic career. It wasn’t the new University that really convinced him to come west as a young professor, but the hip culture of the times, in this beautiful part of California.

There was a spark then that got his attention, a spark ignited by LSD and fueled by rampant creativity amongst artists and muscians of the area. Now, Ralph has collected first-person accounts of the Hip Culture of Santa Cruz in the 1960’s, and in our interview shares a few of his personal adventures from that turned-on era.  Enjoy!

Interview - Dr. Ralph Abraham speaks of The Hip Santa Cruz Project

Listen Now to Ralph Abraham

Why would a young mathematics professor with a post at prestigious Princeton University leave it to live in Santa Cruz, CA in the late 1960’s?  Why would the experiences of that time in his life be important enough for him to collect and to share with future generations now, half a century up the timeline? We explore these questions and more with the father of Chaos Theory, Dr. Ralph Abraham, and the Hip Santa Cruz Project, just as the first book of these efforts is being released this week.

Now up is the Hip Santa Cruz book event August 6, 2016

Enjoy!
