Future Now Show - Artemis/Starship Updates, Guests Dr. Ralph Abraham & T. Mike Walker on Hip Santa Cruz 6 Event, Wagyu Cultured Beef and the Replicator,Taylor Barcroft on the Rokid Max VR Glasses, Master Now checks in!

It was our pleasure to interview T. Mike Walker and mathematician Dr. Ralph Abraham for this show, pioneers of the 1960’s counterculture, and editors of the new book, Hip Santa Cruz 6.  The latest in a series of magical tales from the early days of hip culture in Santa Cruz, this volume explores the start of Rock & Roll, the first organic gardens, Huey P. Newton’s USCS Dissertation, and ‘mind-blowing truths.’ For our show, Ralph relates a telepathic story of swimming with John Lilly’s dolphins, and what they had to say to him. And if you want to see the folks who wrote all these stories, be sure to check out live readings from the latest volume at the Santa Cruz Art League, 526 Broadway, Santa Cruz, CA Saturday afternoon, April 8, 2023, 3-5 p.m.
Lots to share this week, from Space News to AR glasses and bio-printed Wagyu beef, enjoy!

Future Now - The Glassy Water of Luna, The AI Genie is Bottle Free, Utopias Worth Considering, Big Solar Events, 1000 km Tesla Batteries

Listen to Future Now 3.28.2023

Early scientists thought the dark stretches of the moon might be oceans, called ‘marias,’ latin for sea.  Well, it turns out there is a lot of water on the lunar surface, not as oceans but stored in billions of glass beads strewn across the surface of the moon, 300 billion tons, according to one estimate, and relatively easy to harvest!

We look at the latest AI insights this week and gear up for an experiment with none other than Billy Sunshine and “Blows Against the Empire.” And if the AI’s can help make our dreams come true, what utopian world would be to our liking? We look a couple of famous Utopias, H.G. Well’s “A Modern Utopia,” and Robert A. Heinlein’s “For Us, The Living.”

There is also a lot of solar activity happening in the next weeks and months and Bobby outlines some preparations for particle bombardment you may wish to consider.  If your phone starts acting crazy, try to tune into this episode before it fritzes out.

And there is really  a battery breakthrough happening, to be released with new Teslas later this year, batteries that can last a thousand kilometers, and charge faster! The CATL batteries may soon be in many other EV’s as well. Fasten your seatbelts and ENJOY the ride!

Future Now Show 08 - Marvel at 74K Tall Tornado, Venus has a 'pulse', Brace for Geomagnetic Storm, Dr. Bruce Lipton on Epigenetics and the true nature of viruses

Listen Now to Future Now 08  3.21.2023

Happy Equinox dear listeners! We’ve all been through a rough winter and now it’s time to enjoy the warmth and new life of spring.  For us, the Equinox is also Mrs. Future’s birthday, which makes it doubly exciting. To celebreate she shares some of her fav poetry with you.  And we do have some space news this week, such as the solar tornado the size of 14 Earths! It lasted two days traversing our Sun’s surface layer, doing only what solar tornados do..our SciFi brains think, portal perhaps?  Hmm..  meanwhile new analysis of 30 year old Venusian data suggests that volcanism is alive and well on the surface of our sister planet, something we did not know! Implications, anyone?  And then there is fresh evidence of a potentially large geomagnetic storm in the next few days and weeks, some believe may be on the order of a Carrington Event.. Really? I don’t know but thought you should know the evidence, at least..

74K high solar tornado on the sun this week

And our dear friend, Dr. Bruce Lipton helps us understand the role viruses play in our biological evolution, more core than what you may imagine. Of course Bruce also reminds us of how key our belief systems are in creating the world we actually experience, day-to-day. Enjoy the show!

Future Now 07 - The nearby Mae West Point, PI Day Humor, Steve Follmer on the new weight loss/end obesity drugs, Greg Panos on the latest creative AI tools, Richard Cray Sings for an AI experiment

Listen Now to Future Now Show 07 3.14.2022

While we were recording this week’s show, the wind and rain were howling outside, thousands locally were without power and bandwidth, and we were concerned about large trees falling on our house.  Fortunately, we were able to complete the show without incident, and what a show it is!

We take a closer look at the mysterious Mae West point, explore the strangeness of Boulder Creek, Steve Follmer, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, shares his experiences with a class of weight loss drugs known as semaglutides, which are taking the world by storm.

And on the creative front, Greg Panos describes several new AI-powered tools that give us visual and audio super powers, i.e. creating amazing images in a few seconds from a simple textual description, like “create a monkey in a space suit meditating on the shri yantra.” Though is cause to fear AI, there is even more cause to celebrate how AI can enhance our creative expression. Enjoy!

Future Now Show - Quake Predictor, Organics in Asteroid, eband-aid healing, Interview - Sierra Hooshiari on Brain Pop, her healthy soda, Walter Russell download, Carl Sagan rap mix.

Is there really any way of predicting Earthquakes? We’ve recently become aware of Stefan Burns, who has worked as a geologist/geophysicist in NorCal.  He has been paying attention to shifts in the readings of earth magnetometers, especially in the low frequency realms, such as 0-50 Hz. He has been noticing power increases in the Schuman resonances, and that these increases may be correlated with pre-earthquake activity.  This is especially of interest to us, as one of the closest earth magnetomenters to us shgowing increased activity is located in our home town of Boulder Creek, at the Heart Math Institute, and less than 20 miles from the infamous San Andreas Fault!
Our interview is with New Age Drinks founder Sierra Hooshiari, a survivor of a serious brain concussion that had put her in a coma for days. In her years long recovery from this trauma, she explored what brain chemicals were essential to her health, and formulated a soft drink incorporating much of what she learned. We think you’ll enjoy hearing her story..  For more info, goto TikTok@BrainpopRelax and Instagram @brainpopdrink @drinkbrainpop. Website is www.NewAgeDrinks.com

Also in this episode we speak with tribal story teller Jahn Ballard about the life of Walter Russell, renaissance scientist/artist of the 20th century and the Twilight Club, a consortium of influential thinkers, poets, and businessmen, including Mark Twain, and Andrew Carnegie.  This is a chapter in American history not really well known but strangely relevant to today’s challenges.
We finish with a musical remix featuring a cosmic rap by none other than Carl Sagan! Enjoy..
