What a roller coaster Valentines Day weekend!  Big winds tossed our hot tub cover down a cliff, stranded 150 feet below us. Undeterred, Mrs. Future mounted an expedition to retrieve it, resulting in an epic video posted here.

In terms of Future News, a new solar protein derived from the sun, air, electricity and bacteria has been created in Finland, another potential solution to feeding the planet and reducing global pollution. Space artist and amateur astronomer Don Davis gives us an update on the erratic behavior of Betelgeuse, once one the brightest stars in the night sky, now on the road to becoming the brightest, as a supernova! He also shares some info on viewing one of the prettiest new sky attractions, the Starlink ‘light trains.’

Our science corresponent Bobby Wilder checks in with an update on the Corona Virus situation and comments on E.T.’s ‘technosignature.’  And Monica McGuire calls us with info on how we can meet and hear the candidates for local elections, coming up next month.  Enjoy!

Lots of important info coming in on the Corona Virus, now known as the Covid-19 disease, not the least of which is a potential increase in the incubation period of the virus from 14 to 29 days! Its also now estimated that out of 1000 people contracting the virus, 100 will get seriously ill, and 2 or 3 of will die.  Researcher Bobby Wilder has been researching and monitoring COVID-19 very closely and gives us much to chew on for the last half hour of the show. 

Some great space news this week, with the launch of the joint NASA/ESA Solar Orbiter, which will be studying the magnetic fields around the poles of the Sun.  This is important as disruptions in the solar magnetic fields can play serious havoc to our communications systems in orbit and on Earth. Closer to home NASA has approved the construction of the first space hotel by Axiom Space.  Nothing on Air B&B yet, however. Enjoy!

It’s a wild ride this week on many fronts.  Tesla’s stock surges past $900/share more than double it’s value solar closeupof last month, the Parker Probe sets new speed records as it screams by the Sun at 244,255 mph (393,044 km/h) as the closest spacecraft ever to the bright orb, at 11.6 million miles (18.6 million kilometers). For reference, we are 93 million miles from our local star.

This week, Mrs. Future gives us two reports on our local 5G and Homeless issues, and remembering Ram Das, who certainly played a significant role in our spiritual evolution.

We are visited in studio by Laura Bishop, director of What is Erotic?, an annual performance theater experience exploring just what is erotic this year..She is accompanied by Yesenia Gypsy, this year’s choreographer of the variety show, and Georgie Blewett, a cast member and current candidate for a UCSC masters degree.  We explore some of the themes of this year’s show, such as issues of permission and cultural differences in dating, and effects of the ‘me too’  movement on the show.
