Hey good news for our West Coast Pacific ecosystem, our Starfish have returned, after suffering a devastating viral attack that had taken out 95% of their population. Not so lucky are the receivers of Ransomware, a increasing form of cyber attack that destroys all your computer files, unless you pay ransom in Bitcoin, a not easily traceable form of currency.

And then there is the rise of an early Virtual Reality Theme park in Times Square around the Ghostbusters theme, a worthy and notable choice in our opinion.  What better concept to show off the multi-dimensional possibilities of VR than ghosts and goblins?

And the highlight of our news segment this week is a story on how Luxembourg, one of the world’s smallest richest countries is investing in Asteroid Mining, a very futuristic concept promolgated by edgey California-based companies. To take a closer look at this story we bring on Dr. Bruce Damer, who is pioneering a new approach towards asteroid capture, called Shepherd: A Concept for Gentle Asteroid Retrieval with a Gas-Filled Enclosure.  Enjoy!

In this show we are happy to bring you our interview with both the producer and the director of the controversal documentary film suggesting a link between vaccines and autism, VAXXED-From Coverup to Catastrophe.

Since the film was dropped from the Tribecca Film Festival lineup because of pressure placed on the organizers, this documentary has been picked up by dozens of theaters across the country as people wonder what all the fuss is about.  And some fuss it is, as we learn how our trusted Center for Disease Control has fudged data that suggests a vaccine-autism link.

Wow, Earth-like planets found!  We kind of suspected they are out there, but to actually find one, that’s amazing! And only 40 light years away in the constellation of Aquarious.  I guess this is the dawning…:-)

Meanwhile back on Earth, we have discovered that there are over a trillion, count’em, a trillion types of species of biological life here. Admittedly  most of them are microscopic organisms, but hey, that’s a lot of types, way beyond previous estimates of 20 million or so species.

We also have an alleged new father of Bitcoin, the mysterious crypto-currency that seems to have rooted itself into our economic system. For the uninitiated, Bitcoin’s origin has always been surrounded in mystery, and now we have some more info on what may have happened to create this decentralized digital currency.

And this week marks the first anniversay of the Apple Watch! A proud owner, Dr. Future shares his thoughts on this wrist computer.. Enjoy!

Lots of interesting news this week, and we have a lot of fun sharing it. The first drone capable of flying humans has been developed in Germany, the Volocopter VC200. Want to take a ride?  Check out our links page for videos.  An International Space Station Astronaut participated in last weekend’s London Marathon, using gear aboard the space station, including an iPad for virtually being on the London running route.

And GMO Mosquitoes are in the news of late as the latest frontier for eradicating humanity’s greatest pest.  But at what cost? What could go wrong?  We also got a kick out of reporting about Brainprints, a new form of security. And of particular interest to our live audience is the field of light therapy and optogenetics, which promises breakthroughs in pain control and wound healing. Years, some say centuries in the planning, a new TV media series, sourced from a Santa Cruz based filmmaker and artist Kiah Dorius and her talented karass of mythic characters, is kicking off this week with an inspired Indie Go Go Campaign and soiree for cast, crew, family and early funders.

What is Mythic?

Kiah describes a show where the characters have a mythic version of themselves in another world, living larger than life adventures and in some way communicating with their normal selves the lessons learned in this world. Films like the Wizard of Oz have touched on this idea, but she intends to explore the mythic worlds and their attendant lessons of life further, with a cast of characters to which we can relate.

Will we be able to relate? Well, consider that  being normal in Santa Cruz is what passes for mythic in Kansas, and we have quite a range for engaging stories. While on the air with us, she describes some of the characters and plot lines.
