Liquid glass design, anyone?  And can you believe the fiasco over this week’s riots in LA? And why oh why were so many Waymo robo-taxis destroyed? Meanwhile, this is a big week for Chinese college entrance exams and how to stop students from using AI? Why shut down AI systems country wide, of course! But…does this really work in a world where our AI allies are always with us? And then there are the non-human bubble ring blowers who share much of their world through this strange form of communications. 105 Future Now Show Podcast - Lunar Blue Ghost Success, Webb Telescope Finds Exoplanet CO2, Helium 3 Moon Mining, Self-Driving Tests Reveal Tesla Issues, JOBY Teams with Virgin Atlantic, Latest DOGE Discoveries

Our latest lunar lander, Blue Ghost, has just completed it’s 2 week moon mission, accomplishing 100% of it’s goal to deploy 10 different payload experiments, studying everything from the lunar dust to testing GPS signals and drilling deep into the regolith!  Not to be outdone, the Webb telescope has revealed CO2 in the atmosphere of distant exoplanets, orbiting the HR 8799 system, 130 light years from Earth. Could this be a life signature? Grok 3 helps us explore the possibilities more deeply, as well a new strange blue photograph of Mars with its moon Deimos in transit.  And there is news on Helium 3, mined from the Lunar surface, possibly the future fuel that will allow us to expand from a planetary to a solar system wide economy!

Back on Earth, Silicon Valley engineer Mark Rober pits the camera-based full self-driving mode of a Tesla vs the Lidar-based auto-drive seen in Waymo vehicles. Which is better, and which survives the Wiley Coyote test?  And good news for our local eVTOL company, Joby Aviation for securing a London airport-to-airport route for their aircraft with Virgin Atlantic!  And we simply must share with you the latest discoveries of of Elon’s DOGE..Enjoy!

88 Future Now Podcast - StarShip Delivers, Autonomous in LA LA Land, Student Rodent Drivers, Seeing through the Smoke, Predictive Policing and Body Cams, Tired of Needles? Try Leach Tech..

Wouldn’t you know, Starship 6 takes off during our show, so naturally it’s in our lineup today! And heads up if Starship 6 successfully launches to space from its Texas pad.you are looking for an inexpensive DIY way of running your home on solar!  Waymo is in the news with LA now being served by their autonomous robot taxis! Its nice to be driven about, but this week we also pay homage to those who enjoy the act of driving, which, surprisingly,  goes beyond our species; it turns out rodents enjoy driving as well! And then there is the turtle on a skateboard..
And who says our upcoming humanoid robots need exactly the same senses as us, especially when they can have Pano Radar, enabling them to see clearly through smoke, fire, and fog. If one day my robot needs to rescue me from a wildfire, I’d want hir to see clearly what she is doing!
The ethics of predictive policing are up again, this time in the context ofTurns out rodents like to drive! photo-Greg Panos analyzing data from thousands of police bodycams.  The data may help us predict who and where crime may occur, but at what cost to our privacy?  And do you have a fear of needles?
Or how about some AI headphones that can put you in a sound bubble, enhancing what you want to hear around you, excluding what you don’t?
There’s a new blood draw in town, more like a leech than a mosquito in its approach to collecting our precious bodily fluids! It works great, and kinda ‘sucks.’ Enjoy..

And on the edge of reality itself, you’ll enjoy our discussion of the ‘silly putty’ nature of the aging process, and a new substance that comes towards you as it is pushed..just weird..enjoy!
