Interview - Self Awareness Educator Suzanne Dion on the Enneagram System

Today we speak with Suzanne Dion, a brilliant, lovely researcher dedicated to her craft, which justhappensto be the Enneagram system of self-awareness. With origins going back to the Sufis and the later the spiritual teacher George Gurdjieff, Suzanne studied at the well known current Enneagram school, TNE, The Narrative Enneagram.

With psychiatrist, Dr. David Daniels, Adjunct Clinical Professor Emeritus Stanford University Medical School, she has written a major tome on the topic, “The Enneagram, Relationships, and Intimacy: Understanding One Another Leads to Loving Better and Living More Fully.” 

On today’s show, she gives us an introductory understanding of the system, using the 16-year old environmental activist, Greta Thumberg, as an example of how it works, with particular reference to issues of righteous anger and shaming.

Suzanne, as a founding board member of Enneagram Prison Project, took the Enneagram into the California jail and prison system, helping hundreds of marginalized individuals process their deep traumas.

 

One key difference with the Enneagram from say, Astrology, is that you ascertain your own personality type, rather than external factors, like your birthdate and location. So for example, Mrs. Future, though an Aries by birth, is actually a ‘7’, her ‘bon vivant’ personality traits revealed via the Enneagram. An educational and fun show, enjoy!

It’s a big week for us to have new media experiences, ones worthy of sharing with you.  Mrs. Future is finding the iOS game “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery,”  quite engaging from what I’ve seen, both from what I’ve seen in the game, and from how little time I have seen my wife this week! She’s now a sophomore at the illustrious Hogwarts Academy, has learned to fly in Quiddich matches, and I’m starting to feel like a Muggle..I think you’ll love her review. 

And in the interactive media world this week Deepak Chopra has unveiled his virtual Avatar, where he’ll take you on a 21 day cosmic adventure with your higher self, if you tune in..Will keep you posted on our progress! Enjoy.

The Futures on the Beach with Rev Deb

We met Rev Deb on, of all places, the beach in front of our family beach house, making giant multi-colored bubbles! Yes,  the founding minister and president of Inner Light Ministries, an Omnifaith outreach ministry dedicated to teaching the practical application of Universal Spiritual Principles to ALL of life’s circumstances, was generating some pretty massive bubbles! So naturally we joined in, had a great connection and invited her onto the show, to look at how all encompassing spirituality including everyone can take us to a fantastic future! With all the crazy headlines these days of potential war with Iran, we’ve taken a decidedly different tack, focusing on our creation of a true renaissance and the consciousness that comes with it.  This week we look back at the early days of the internet, the open sources dreams we shared, the good news show we helped create, and where we are going today, given the current paradigm of media.  Mrs. Future tells about her new obsession, an iPad gamified Hogwarts Academy where she is recognized as a top student in the Hufflepuff House. (It is very consuming, I might see her for dinner, but probably not this eve, as she has ‘finals’. :-)) 

We also talk about a new dolphin communications project, finding the lost lunar lander, Ed Snowden and his new book, Permanent Record, and share the conversation with our visiting commentator and friend, Bruce Erickson. Enjoy!
